Kemba Hudley Walker was born on 8 May 1990 to parents Paul Walker and Andrea Walker. He grew up with three siblings; two brothers, Keya and Akil, and a sister named Sharifa Nesbitt in Bronx, New York.

Walker played for the Bobcats for eight seasons. Afterward, he joined the Boston Celtics on 6 July 2019 via a sign and trade. He made his debut for Celtics against the Philadelphia 76ers on 23 October 2019.
