Born on 16 February 1997, Jordan Greenway is 24 years of age now. He is the eldest of three children of his parents James Greenway and Shannon Sullivan.
Jordan’s father left the family when he was three years old. Therefore, he was raised by a single mother Shannon. He still shares the same last name as his biological father.
The player grew up along with his younger brother JD Greenway in Canton, New York, United States. JD played college hockey as a defenseman at the University of Wisconsin. Additionally, he has a younger sister named Maria.
Greenway belongs to African descent from his family side. His father is African and his mother is white.
His NHL Career Journey
Jordan played high school hockey at Shattuck-Saint Mary’s in Minnesota. Afterward, he joined the USA Hockey National Team Development Program.
The 6-foot-6-inch enrolled at the Boston University to play collegiate hockey. He played for the Boston University Terriers for all four seasons.
The Minnesota Wild selected him in the second round (50th overall) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. On 27 March 2018, he made his NHL debut against the Nashville Predators.
Later, on the 2017-18 season, he moved to the American Hockey League for further development. He was recalled back to the NHL after his second AHL game in October 2018.
On the International platform, Greenway first represented the United States and helped capture a gold medal at the 2014 World U-17 Hockey Challenge.
Moreover, he won a gold medal as a member of Team USA at the 2015 IIHF World U18 Championships. Afterward, he was selected to compete at the 2018 Winter Olympics.
