His Journey To MLB
Heim attended Kenmore East High School in Tonawanda, New York. Moreover, he also went to Amherst Central High School in Snyder, New York. There he played baseball for the high school team.
After graduating, he intended to attend Michigan State University to play college baseball. However, the Baltimore Orioles selected him in the fourth round, with the 129th overall selection, of the 2013 MLB draft.
Jonah signed a contract with the Orioles and began his professional career with the GCL Orioles. He also played with the minor league sides Aberdeen IronBirds and Delmarva Shorebirds.
After beginning the 2016 season with the Frederick Keys, the Orioles traded Heim to the Tampa Bay Rays. He was then assigned to the Charlotte Stone Crabs and split his time between Frederick and Charlotte.
The 6-foot-4-inch spent 2017 with both Charlotte and the Bowling Green Hot Rods and was traded to the Oakland Athletics. Likewise, he played with minor league sides Stockton Ports, Midland RockHounds, and Las Vegas Aviators before being promoted to the major league.
On 25 August 2020, he made his major league debut against the Texas Rangers. He was traded to the Texas Rangers on 6 February 2021.
