The player was born as Joel Hans Embiid on 16 March 1994 in Yaoundé, Cameroon Embiid, to parents, Thomas Embidd and Christin. By profession, his father is involved in arm force. He went to Montverde Academy, Mbah a Moute’s alma mater. However, due to a lack of playing time, he had to transfer after his first year. To which, he attended The Rock School, a Christian academy, in Gainesville, Florida.

The 25-year-old has a net worth of $35 million from the professional NBA since 2014. Sometime later on 20 June 2014, he had to go surgery on a broken navicular bone in his right foot. To which he was out of the league for almost six months playing for the Philadelphia 76ers. The 2016/2017 was his rookie season, and after it was about to conclude, he signed a large contract with the team.

The agreement was for a five-year, worth $148 million that included maximum deal extension. It also included an additional $30 million if he was able to secure an All-NBA first played or the 2017/2018 MVP.

Joel has an impeccable stats playing with 76ers. Likewise, he was able to secure a game-high 13 rebounds on 25 November 2019. Sadly, he did not score any points for the first time his career in the 76ers’ 101–96 loss to the Toronto Raptors.
