Jessica Ann Rothenberg was born on 28 May 1987 in Denver, Colorado. She is the eldest of three children of Steve Rothenberg and Susan Rothenberg. Her father is Ashkenazi Jewish and her mother is of German, Scottish and English descent. She has two siblings; a sister Cate Rothenberg and a brother named Zach Rothenberg.

Rothe with a height of 5 feet 4 inches took ballet classes at an early age of eight. Eventually, she graduated from Boston University with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in 2009.
