The marriage life of Jeff Zucker and his producer wife ended after 21 years in January 2018. Despite the separation, they are committed in raising their four children so far.

Jeff Zucker is an American media executive, who served as president and CEO of NBC Universal. He currently serves President of CNN Worldwide and also as the Chairman of WarnerMedia News and Sports.

Jeff Zucker Early Life, Education

Jeffrey Adam Zucker was born on 9 April 1965 in in Homestead, Florida. He is one of the two children of Matthew Zucker and Arline Zucker and has a younger sister named Pam. His father was a cardiologist and his mother worked as an English teacher at North Miami Beach High School.

Zucker graduated from North Miami Senior High School in 1982. There, he was captain of the tennis team,editor of the school paper, and a teenage freelance reporter. Afterward, he went to Harvard University from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in American history.

His Career; NBC, CNN

Earlier, Jeff served as a field producer for Today Show, and later became its executive producer in 1992. He was named as the president of NBC Entertainment in 2000. At NBC, he introduced various shows such as Las Vegas, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and Scrubs. In December 2003, he became the president of  NBC’s Entertainment, News & Cable Group.

Furthermore, he was promoted to Chief Executive Officer of NBC Universal Television Group in 2005 and later became president and CEO of NBC Universal in 2007.He worked there until 2011 as the head of its cable properties, MSNBC, CNBC, USA, Bravo, Oxygen and Syfy, Universal Pictures and the Universal Theme Parks.

Starting from the year 2013, Jeff became the president of CNN Worldwide. His contribution on the network yields a significant increase in the viewers. In March 2019, he took a new role as the Chairman of WarnerMedia News and Sports overseeing Turner Sports, Bleacher Report and AT&T SportsNet.

Jeff is likely to receive a million dollar salary for his work on CNN. He renewed his CNN contract through the 2020 U.S. elections in June 2018, yielding him a yearly salary in millions.

Split With Wife After 21 Years, Children

Jeff was married to producer Caryn Nathanson. They exchanged the wedding vows on 1st June 1996 at Pierre Hotel, New York. Caryn, aged 53 is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and she served as the supervisor of rights and clearance for “Saturday Night Live.” They met while both of them were working at NBC.

Jeff and Caryn are the parents of four children; three sons and a daughter named Elizabeth. Their first son Andrew Zucker was born in the early 1998. However, they announced their separation after 21 years of marriage in January 2018. The separation was amicable and they are committed to raising their kids.  After the separation, Jeff listed his New York City apartment on the Upper East Side for $17.5 million in February. He and his then-wife bought the apartment in 2007 for $12.3 million.

  • In July 2018, Jeff revealed that he will be taking a six-week leave for heart surgery. He returned to the office after undergoing elective heart surgery in September 2018.
  • His sister Pam works as a media consultant for Fox Networks Group, NBCU, Viacom and ITN. She graduated from Carleton College with a bachelor’s of arts in English language and Literature in 1988.
  • He was diagnosed with colon cancer at the age of 31 and 34 respectively. He successfully underwent surgery twice and chemotherapy after the first surgery.
