Jay Ajayi is an American football running back currently playing for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Boise State University.

Jay was born on 15 June 1993 to Nigerian parents Ibi Ajayi and Kemi Ajayi in London, England. His parents moved to the United States when he was seven years old and settled in Maryland. He has two brothers in the family; Solomon and Semi Ajayi.

Ajayi attended Frisco Liberty High School in Frisco, Texas. Afterward, he went to Boise State University to play college football. He stands at a height of 6 feet (1.83 meters) and weighs 228 lbs (103 kg).

Jay played at Boise State for three seasons from 2011 to 2014. He is the only player in the team’s history with three games of 200+ yards rushing. He was then was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft with the 149th overall pick.

Ajayi made his NFL debut against the Buffalo Bills on 8 November 2015. After playing for three seasons for the Dolphins he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles for a 2018 fourth-round draft pick in October 2017. He re-signed with the Eagles after they placed running back Darren Sproles on the injured reserve on 15 November 2019.
