After graduating from James Monroe High School, he attended Concord University in Athens, West Virginia. There, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Science in Management in 2001.

As a member of the Republican Party, Jason was first elected to serve the 12th House District in 2021. He won the election of the Virginia House of Delegates to represent District 42 on 7 November 2023. He assumed office on 10 January 2024 and his current term ends on 14 January 2026.
