Hassel made her debut on Jeopardy on the 14 June episode this season. She competed against a returning champion Suresh Krishnan and Neilay Amin, a psychiatrist from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Suresh, a Suwanee, Georgia-based networking engineer returned as a six-day champion but was not able to defend his winning streak. She ended his winning streak and emerged as a new champion on the Jeopardy episode.
