The player was born as Gordon Daniel Hayward on 23 March 1990 in Indianapolis, Indiana, to parents, Gordon Scott Hayward and Jody Hayward. He has a twin sister, Heather, who played tennis for Butler University.

Gordon went to Brownsburg High School in Brownsburg, Indiana. He then attended Butler college to play Basketball from 2008 to 2010. The player stands at the height of 5 feet 11 inches (1.80 m).

The 29-year-old has a net worth of $40 million from professional NBA career since 2010. In the 2010 NBA draft, he was picked by the Utah Jazz and played until the 2016 season.
