Erling Haaland is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a striker for German club Borussia Dortmund joining in the January transfer window 2020. Besides, he represents his country from the Norway national football team.

Erling Haaland Early Life, Parents

Erling Braut Haaland was born on 21 July 2000 Leeds, United Kingdom and later moved to Norway with his family at the age of three. He is the son of Alf-Inge Håland, a Norwegian former professional footballer and mother, Gry Marita.

His father played both as a defender and midfielder for English teams Nottingham Forest, Leeds United, and Manchester City. He grew up with an elder brother Astor Haaland and a sister, Gabrielle Haaland in the city of Bryne in Rogaland, Norway.

His Football Career

Erling hometown club Bryne FK in 2015 and made his senior debut at the age of 15 on 12 May 2016 in a 1. division match against Ranheim. He then joined another side Molde FK in 2017 and played until the 2018 season.

In January 2019, Haaland joined the Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg, signing a five-year contract. He scored a hattrick in his 2019–20 UEFA Champions League debut against Genk in a 6–2 victory on 17 September 2019. He completed a transfer to the German team Borussia Dortmund during the January 2020 winter transfer window.

Erling signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with a fee of €20 million. He made his debut coming on as a substitute in the 56th minute against Augsburg on 18 January 2020, where he scored a hat-trick within 23 minutes in a 5–3 win. Moreover, he scored two goals in a 2–1 home victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the 1st leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 held on 18 February 2020.

Haaland was also eligible to play for England but he chose Norway national football team. He made his debut in the 2020 Euro qualifying match against Malta on 5 September 2019.
