The sportscaster was born as Erin Jill Andrews on 4 May 1978 in Lewiston, Maine, to parents, Paula Andrews and Steven Andrews. Her father is the six-time recipient of Emmy Awards as an investigative reporter for NBC affiliate WFLA-TV. The Andrews moved to San Antonio, Texas, when Erin was at the age of 5 and then to Valrico, Florida, almost 18 months later.

Erin went to Bloomingdale High School in Valrico, Florida, and completed her graduation in 1996.
