Chad was born to American parents on 18 August 1999 in Denver, Colorado. His father is Ty Muma and his mother is Kara Muma.
The 23-year-old has a family history in college football. His father and grandfather Rick Desmarais played college football at the University of Wyoming. Likewise, his mother Kara also attended the same college.
Muma is accompanied by two brothers, Marc Muma and Jaxon Muma, and a sister named Payton Muma. Payton is a member of the Gonzaga Bulldogs women’s basketball team.
His NFL Journey
Growing up in Lone Tree, Colorado, Muma attended Legend High School. There he began playing football as a defensive back and moved to linebacker his senior season.
After graduating from high school, he committed to play college football at the University of Wyoming. There, he played for four seasons from 2018 to 2021. Furthermore, he was invited to play in the 2022 Senior Bowl and was named a finalist for the Butkus Award in his senior year.
Chad was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the third round (70th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. Eventually, he signed a 4 year, $5,426,108 contract with the team in May 2022.
