Basso was born to parents Richard D Basso and Theresa H Basso on 25 February 1954 in New York, New York. His parents raised him in Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey. Moreover, his growing-up memory includes spending summer days on the lake in Morris County.
As per wiki, his father Richard was in the production business and his mother was a housewife. He says that fashion was always part of his family.
