The player was born as David Luiz Moreira Marinho born on 22 April 1987 in Diadema, Brazil. His family member includes his parents, Ladislao and Regina Marinho and an older sister named Isabelle Moreira Marinho. David stands at the height of 6 feet 2 inches (1.89 m) and weighs around 86 kg.

The 32-year-old has a net worth $62 million from his playing career of over a decade. He joined Portuguese club, Benfica on 30 January 2007. Two years later, the squad labeled him a player worth €18 million including a fund pay of €4.5 million. In October 2009, his release clause was €50 million. After three incredible seasons, he went to Chelsea for a five and a half year contract worth €25 million on 31 January 2011. 

However, his cherishing season with Chelsea came to an end when French team, Paris Saint-Germain offered him a five years contract worth £50 million on 13 June 2014. For the 2016/2017 season, he returned to Chelsea on 31 August 2016. The club paid him a whopping £34 million as a part of his three years contract.

As if for now, another EPL giant Arsenal signed him for a contract worth £8 million on 8 August 2019. Even David took his social media handle to express his happiness joining the North London side.
