Born on 12 February 2001, Sweeny is 22 years old now. His parents Clay Sweeny and Michelle Sweeny raised him in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

Clay works as a cleaner whereas Michelle works for a hairdressing company in the warehouse, distributing hair products and stuff. He has an older brother named Blake Sweeny and a sister named Emma Sweeny. Blake is 10 years older than him and works as a Financial Adviser at Morgan Stanley.

Dane began playing tennis at the age of two after watching his older brother play tennis. He received his early training from his father who was his first coach.

The athlete with a height of 5 feet 7 inches pursued his high school in his hometown. Afterward, he went to Siena Catholic College in Sippy Downs, Australia.

Throughout his career, he has won seven singles and five doubles titles at the ITF Men’s World Tennis Tour. His recent ITF single title was at the M25 Canberra 2023 Tennis Tournament where he defeated fellow Australian Marc Polmans.

Sweeny made his ATP Tour main draw debut at the 2021 Great Ocean Road Open where he received a wildcard. He qualified for a Masters 1000 at the Shanghai for the first time in 2023.
