The player was born on 28 May 1988 in Huntsville, Alabama to parents, Mike and Sandy Kimbrel with two brothers, Alan and Matt. He went to Lee High School in Huntsville, Alabama to play baseball. Then he went to Wallace State Community College.

Craig’s professional career commenced after the Atlanta Braves selected him in the 33rd round of the 2007 MLB draft. However, he had to remain at Wallace State to raise his draft position until 2008. Two years then in 2010, he got the fortune to be in the squad for almost four years. On 16 February 2014, he also penned a four-year contract worth $42 million with an option to extend his contract until 2018.

Nevertheless, he was traded to the San Diego Padres on 5 April 2015. Surprisingly within seven months, he got traded to the Boston Red Sox on 13 November 2015. He has an incredible playing stats with Sox but refused to sign a year contract worth $17.9 million and became a free agent for the 2019 season.

Craig’s Wife Was A Former MLB Cheerleader

Besides great career-run, Craig is blessed to have Ashley Holt as his wife. Well, she is a former Wallace State cheerleader, and the couple got hitched in December 2012. Five years post their wedding; they welcomed their first child, a daughter named Lydia Joy, born on 3 November 2017. The baby was born with heart defects and till now has undergone two surgeries.
