Born as Rami Said Malek on 12 May 1981, he was raised by his Egyptian immigrant parents, late Said (died 2006) and Nelly Malek. He has a brother named Sami who is his identical twin born after him in just four minutes. His late father, Said job was of a tour guide in Cairo who later sold insurance. Besides his dad, Rami’s mother works as an accountant and his brother is into the teaching profession.

Rami has obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana in 2003.
