Mike Wolfe faced back to back family tragedy as both his mother and wife were diagnosed with cancer. The American Pickers star is now enjoying a joyous family life after both his family members recovered from cancer.

American picker and television personality Mike Wolfe is the creator and star of History Channel’s hit reality TV show American Pickers. He along with Frank Fritz travels around the United States to buy or pick various items for resale, for clients, or for their personal collections.

Mike of age 56 was born on 11 June 1964 in Joliet, Illinois, United States. He is the oldest of three children of American parents. His parents divorced when he was two years old and he was raised by single mother Rita Wolfe.

His mother moved with the family to Iowa when he was in the fourth grade. She worked at the Rock Island Arsenal to raise her family. He grew up alongside younger siblings; a brother Robbie Wolfe, and a sister named Beth Wolfe.

Career; Journey to American Pickers

Mike began searching for hidden treasure at the early age of four. He pulled an old bicycle out of his neighbor’s trash and sold it after cleaning it up to another kid for $5, which was his first profitable flip.

Wolfe has been working as a professional picker for more than two decades. Moreover, he owned two different bike stores in Iowa during the 1990s: The Village Bike Shop in East Davenport and a store in Eldridge, Iowa.

Since January 2010, he has been running the reality show American Pickers on The History Channel. The show stars him alongside Frank Fritz, and Danielle Colby and is one of the most successful reality shows on the History Channel.  Besides, he owns and operates two locations of Antique Archaeology; in Le Claire, Iowa, and Nashville, Tennessee, where he sells treasures from the road and official American Picker merchandise.

Mike and his wife share a daughter from their marital relationship. Their daughter named Charlie Faeth Wolfe was born on 30 January 2012 through a C-section surgical procedure. Meanwhile, Jodi has a 32-year-old son named Kyle from her previous relationship.

His Wife Battle To Cancer

Mike’s married life was going well until his wife Jodi was diagnosed with cancer. In 2013, the news came that she was diagnosed with stage 2 Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the age of 41.

Jodi went straight into medication and therapy to eradicate cancer. After the treatment and following healthy habits, she became free from cancer in May 2014.
