Charles Duncan Trussell was born on 20 April 1974 to parents Julian Trussell and Deneen Fendig. He grew up along with his brother Jeff Trussell in Asheville, North Carolina.

Trussell with a height of 5 feet 6 inches (1.68 meters) received his early education in his hometown. He then went to Warren Wilson College from where he received the graduation.

Duncan wrote and appeared in sketches for two seasons of Fuel TV’s Stupidface. Similarly, as a standup comedian, he regularly tours and performs at Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal and the Moontower Comedy Festival in Austin.

Trussell has lent his voice for the character Dave in the HBO animated show Animals. Meanwhile, he was the co-host of The Lavender Hour podcast with Natasha Leggero in 2012. Recently, Duncan and the Adventure Time creator Pendleton Ward created an adult cartoon named The Midnight Gospel. The animated web television series was released on Netflix on 20 April 2020.
