Initially, Cavan joined the Youth Academy of Philadelphia Union in 2020. As a youth player, he helped his team win the 2023 Generation Adidas Cup.
Eventually, Sullivan made his professional debut in an MLS Next Pro march for Philadelphia Union II on 24 March 2024. He then penned a homegrown contract with the Union on 9 May 2024.
As part of the four-year deal with the Union, Cavan receives an annual income of $500,000. He is also committed to move to the Premier League club, Manchester City when he turns 18 in 2027.
