Early Life & Career
Born in Swansea in 1969, Catherine always showed great interest in music, dance, and performing. At 15, she graduated earlier from high school and set out to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. She moved to London and slowly made her way into the industry. Zeta-Jones’ work in 1001 Nights and her breakout role in The Darling Buds of May attracted Hollywood’s attention and she soon moved to the US.
On American soil, Catherine was cast in Christopher Columbus: Discovery, featuring Marlon Brando. Although success didn’t come instantly, Zeta-Jones never stopped working and in 1997 she was cast in her biggest role to date, as Elena in The Mask of Zorro.
