The late actor (age 73) was born as William Eugene Burrows Jr. on 30 November 1945 in Hugoton, Kansas, the United States. He was raised by his parents, William Franklin Burrows Jr. and Gladys Marie Wilcox (1917-1993).

Billy completed his college graduation from the University of Kansas. Subsequently, he joined an acting company and commenced his entertainment career.

Billy Drago’s acting career officially began in the late 1970s. His early movies included No Other Love (1979), Windwalker (1980), and Cutter’s Way (1981). Billy’s career highlight came as the role of Al Capone’s henchman Frank Nitti in Brian De Palma’s 1987 gangster film The Untouchables.

Later on, Billy appeared in several TV shows including The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. (1993-1994), Charmed (1999-2004), The X-Files (2000), and Supernatural (2008). Besides, the veteran actor appeared in movies like The Hills Have Eyes (2006), Dark Moon Rising (2009), and Low Down (2014).

Billy’s Death

The actor passed away on 24 June 2019 in Los Angeles due to the complications from a stroke.

Who Was Billy Drago’s Wife?

Billy Drago married New York-born actress Silvana Gallardo in 1980. However, the togetherness, unfortunately, ended in 2012 after Silvana passed away on 2 January, eleven days before her 59th birthday. Billy was around when his wife took her final breath at a Jewish Hospital in Louisville.

The couple together shared an actor son named Darren E. Burrows.
