Adam died on Saturday, 28 October 2023 after being fatally injured in an ice hockey game. He was just 29 years old at the time of his death.
The unfortunate incident happened when Adam was playing against the Sheffield Steelers on Saturday. He was fatally injured after an on-ice collision. The collision resulted in a cut to his neck from a skate.

It was in the 34th minute of the game when Adam suffered a serious cut in a match in Britain’s Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). Adam was representing Nottingham Panthers when he was shockingly injured.
Following the collision, Adam was sent to Northern General Hospital where he was announced dead. The statement from the Nottingham Panthers read,
The Nottingham Panthers are truly devastated to announce that Adam Johnson has tragically passed away following a freak accident at the game in Sheffield last night.
