Earlier, Hoxie was a news planning intern at ABC7-WLS in Chicago. She began her professional career as a multimedia journalist at NBC and Fox-affiliated WLIO in Lima, Ohio.
Afterward, she moved to CBS-affiliated WTOL in Toledo, Ohio, and worked as a multimedia journalist there. She also managed online portals like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and the company webpages to protect, enhance, and build a positive reputation.
In August 2015, she joined KSHB, an NBC-affiliate station in Kansas City, Missouri. There, she promoted to market #33, reaching an audience of 899,020 potential viewers.
Ali joined WXYZ-TV as a freelance reporter in 2018 after taking a brief break from media work. After appearing in morning and weekend shows for two years, she was promoted to traffic anchor in 2020.
