Earlier, Shilton was a Junior Copywriter at a company named JAM Direct. She then went to work as a sports reporter at various media houses such as 91X FM, QNet News, and Newhouse Sports.
Moreover, she was a staff writer and editor for Twenty What women’s lifestyle magazine. She then spent nearly two years with the Chicago Wolves, the Vancouver Canucks’ American Hockey League affiliate. There, she worked as a Communications Assistant and then as the team’s Digital Media Coordinator.
As a digital sports producer and hockey writer, she worked at USA TODAY for two seasons. Additionally, she contributed stories both in print and online for USA TODAY and its pop culture-sports hybrid site, For The Win.
Kristen was the Toronto Maple Leafs beat reporter at The Sports NetWork (TSN). There, she co-created the Leafs’ 3-in-3 broadcast segments and appeared on SportsCentre, That’s Hockey, and across TSN1050 radio programs.
