Other than Gasolina, Daddy Yankee previously rose to fame when he made Despacito with Justin Bieber. The song was so popular it went to the top global charts.
“Livin’ la vida loca!” (living the crazy life).
Does that sound familiar? If it does, then great, you have an amazing musical taste. Over the years, we’ve heard some amazing Latino musicians and no matter where you’re from in the world, you must have vibed to Latino music at some point in your life.
Being a Latino, I always find myself jamming to some of the most iconic Spanish songs. It would be a crime if I didn’t share all my favorite artists. Here are some of the best Latino musicians you should listen to at least once:
Ricky Martin
If you are a fan of Shrek 2, then congratulations, you’ve heard a bit of Latino music. You might remember towards the end of the movie, there was a song covered by Antonio Banderas and Eddie Murphy (Puss in Boots and Donkey). That song was none other than Livin’ La Vida Loca which is originally by Ricky Martin.
Whether you listen to the original or the one from Shrek 2, the songs are the kind that would make you want to jump up and start dancing. It is enough to show you how amazing Latino music is and how much it makes you want to dance!
Shakira
Everybody knows that her hips don’t lie, and that is exactly what makes Shakira an iconic Latino musician. She has been referred to as the Queen of Latin music and rightfully so because all her songs are very catchy and just like Ricky Martin’s songs, you can’t help but dance to her songs.
Some of her most iconic songs include Hips Don’t Lie, Whenever, Wherever, Waka Waka and Get It Started. You can find carefully curated playlists on Spotify to download. You can find them for every brilliant Latino musician.

Enrique Iglesias
This list would have been incomplete without mentioning everyone’s heartthrob, Enrique Iglesias. I’m sure nearly everyone reading this article must have been obsessed with Enrique at some point in their lives.
Some of Enrique’s most popular songs include Bailamos, Ring My Bells, Hero, Tonight (I’m Lovin’ You), Dirty Dancer and Somebody’s Me. Even today I find myself listening to Enrique whenever I want a kick of nostalgia and I recommend that you do the same too!
Daddy Yankee
Here’s an artist from more recent years; if you’ve danced to Gasolina, then you have heard Daddy Yankee. Hailing from Puerto Rico, Daddy Yankee is known for creating some of the most catchy and dance-worthy music. He is also dubbed the King of Reggaeton because of his influence on the Reggae music industry.
Other than Gasolina, Daddy Yankee previously rose to fame when he made Despacito with Justin Bieber. The song was so popular it went to the top global charts. When I’m bored, I put on some Daddy Yankee and give away to the beats till I find myself mindlessly dancing to his music.
Pitbull
Back in the early 2010s, Pitbull was everywhere. Hit after hit, Pitbull was very well-known for his upbeat music, the kind that you would find yourself singing repeatedly after you heard a song. Pitbull had songs with other popular artists as well such as Jennifer Lopez, Ke$ha, Shakira, Ne-Yo, Afrojack, Christina Aguilera, Usher, and a lot more.
Some of Pitbull’s most popular songs include Give Me Everything, Timber, Feel This Moment, DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love, International Love, Hotel Room Service, Fireball, and On the Floor. Pitbull is another artist that you can listen to whenever you want to experience some nostalgia and a trip down memory lane. You’ll feel like you’re in the early 2010s in no time!
Carlos Santana
Known for his extraordinary guitar skills, you should listen to Santana if you want to hear the best of the instrument. Though he doesn’t sing much by himself, he pours his soul out into the guitar he plays. He excels at acoustic, semi-acoustic, Spanish, and electric guitars.
Some of Santana’s popular songs include Into the Night (with Chad Kroeger from Nickelback), Black Magic Woman, Maria Maria, and a lot more. So if you are a fan of the guitar then you should definitely sit back and listen to some Santana.
