1. Troy Has Continued His Winning Streak on Jeopardy!

Troy has continued his winning streak on Jeopardy! and now has won the sixth game in a row. The Florida native won again on Thursday, 26 January 2023, and has now pushed his winning total to $214,802.

The returning champ was up against a planning consultant, John Guszkowski, and a librarian, Emma Moore. He was able to defeat his challengers and keep up his winning run.

Troy initially made his Jeopardy! debut on 19 January 2023. He was a great fan of the show from his childhood. He used to watch Jeopardy! with his mother, who passed away recently.

2. He Met His Wife on Jeopardy!

Troy also has Jeopardy! to thank for his love life. He met his now-wife, Genevieve Sheehan, through the show back in 2009.

Genevieve, an Irish-born working woman, was practicing to appear as a contestant on Jeopardy! when she met Troy in 2009. She had previously tried for Junior Jeopardy when she was 12. Unfortunately, she was unable to make it to the game show back then.

Genevieve wanted to try her luck again in 2009 and she met Troy while practicing for the show online. Troy was her first online competitor and Genevieve was able to beat him.

When the pair met each other, Troy had just come out of a relationship. Meanwhile, Genevieve was already seeing someone at the moment.

Eventually, the pair started sharing messages and they fell in love. Troy then went to Boston in November 2009 to meet his future wife. He then permanently moved to Boston and started living together with Genevieve in December of the same year.

3. Troy Raises One Kid With His Wife

After knowing each other for over a year, Troy and Genevieve decided to get married on 30 December 2010. They exchanged their wedding vows at St. Mary’s Church in Naval, near Dublin, in Ireland.

The place had great importance for Genevieve as it was the same spot where her maternal grandparents got married in around 1954. Their wedding ceremony was attended by the couple’s close friends and family members, including Genevieve’s psychiatrist dad, Dr. Michael Sheehan.

Troy’s wife, Sheehan currently serves as a Vice President at Atlassian. She completed her bachelor’s degree at Harvard University. Following that, she received her MBA degree in 2012.

As of now, Troy co-parents a son with his wife. Their baby boy is now 10 years of age.

4. He is a Music Executive Based in Florida

Troy was born and raised in Brecksville, Ohio, United States. He was born in the year 1983. He now resides in Tampa, Florida.

The 39-years-of-age Jeopardy! champ is a music executive by profession. He previously works as a bassist in a Chicago-based rock band.

On top of that, he used to work as a day trader while in Chicago. He then returned back to Brecksville in October 2008 to rest after a heart ailment.

5. Troy’s Grandfather Had Some Experience Working With Celebrities

Troy hasn’t been much vocal about his family life in the media. However, he once talked about his grandfather on Jeopardy!

The champ revealed that his grandfather used to work as a celebrity security guard in the past. He worked for the 1940s movie legend, Rita Hayworth, who is known for the movies like Gilda and The Lady from Shanghai.
