Harold Varner III credits his family for a successive career as pro-golfer. The second African-American player after Tiger Woods was first introduced to the sports by his father and from then, there was no stopping.

American professional golfer Harold Varner III plays on the PGA Tour. He is also the recipient of the 2016 Australian PGA Championship that took place at the end of the same year.

The player was born on 15 August 1990 in Akron, Ohio. Talking about his family, his parents, Harold Varner Jr. and Patricia Carter raised him in Gastonia, North Carolina. During that time, he soon began to play golf at Forestview High School. Harold then chose collegiate golf at East Carolina University and was the first player in school history to be named Conference USA player of the year.

He stands at a height of 5 feet 9 inches (1.75 m) tall and weighs around 75 kg.

The 29-year-old and his long-time girlfriend Amanda Singleton is soon to walk the wedding aisle. They are set to get married on 26 September 2020 in Charlotte, North Carolina. For a fact, Harold refers to his fiancee as Beth.

They first met during an accounting class at East Carolina University. Although they did not make their relationship public, the two were immensely fond of each other. The unconditional love of Amanda is apparent when she puts her real estate career on hold to travel with her husband-to-be on his PGA Tours

Harold became a professional golfer in 2012. Before playing on the Web.com Tour, he got the fortune to play on the eGolf Tour and Florida Tour. Although he was qualified for the 2013 U.S. Open, he missed the cut.

Varner started playing on the Web.com Tour in 2014, making 13 cuts in 21 tournaments with two top-10 finishes. He finished 30th on the money list in his first full season. The next year, he had a consistent season with five top-25 finishes and a runner-up finish at the Panama Claro Championship. He finished 25th on the Web.com Tour regular-season money list, the last guaranteed spot, to earn a PGA Tour card for the 2015–16 season. During the 2016 season, out of 28 events played, Harold made lucrative earnings of $1,327,330.00. In 2017 and 2018, out of 31 and 27 events, the golf prodigy took staggering earnings of $918,779.00 and $1,223,064.00.

In May 2019, Varner was tied for second heading into the final round of the PGA Championship on Bethpage Black outside of New York City. He played in the final group with eventual champion Brooks Koepka but shot 81 in windy conditions to finish tied for 36.
